CONTEXTO HISTÓRICO

Ifa é o sistema de crença religiosa do povo Yoruba na costa oeste da África. Orunmila é o seu Profeta. Orunmila é o mediador entre o homem e Eledumare (o Deus Todo-Poderoso).

Ifa é uma divindade Oraculo, por meio do Okpele e do Ikin Ifá, mas ,mais de adivinhação. É um sistema composto de tradição oral que abraça todos os aspectos da existência mundana.

Ifa é um conselheiro em matéria matrimonial, um justiceiro, um legislador, um agradecimento-pensamento cósmico contendo resposta, para todos os problemas do homem em sua vida terrena.

Ifa como uma religião tem seu corpo de conhecimento esotérico conhecido como ODU IFA. (IFA CORPUS)

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Ifa is the religious belief system of the Yoruba people in the west coast of Africa. Orunmila is its Prophet. Orunmila is the mediator between man and Eledumare (the Almighty God).

Ifa is an Oracle divinity but more than divination. It is a composite system of Oral tradition embracing every aspect of mundane existence.

Ifa is a counselor in matrimonial matters, a righter of wrongs, a law giver, a cosmic think thank containing answer, to all problems of man in his earthly life.
